Kuwait Finance House (KFH) continued assuming its corporate social responsibility during the year 2015 by focusing on the fields of health, education, sport and the youth in a manner that reflects the bank’s keenness on reinforcing communication with all segments of the society, yet sponsoring events and activities, organizing purposeful visits and increasing awareness in many fields, primarily the health.
KFH focuses on improving interaction with the United Nations International Days, mainly those of social nature, through the contribution in increasing awareness, fostering volunteerism and philanthropy at many occasions.
Manager Group Public Relations at KFH, Yousef Abdullah Al-Ruwaieh clarified that KFH’s contributions targeted the education field through several events, the most prominent of which were the scientific visit of the Finance Club to KFH-Germany, AT Bank AG, and the sponsorship of many events and activities for Kuwaiti students’ National Unions. KFH has been keen on transferring its expertise to students through specialized economic lectures, and through sponsoring and supporting the finance and marketing academic clubs at Kuwait University and other private universities. KFH sponsored graduation projects for over 200 male and female engineering students. The bank inked a memorandum of understanding and a partnership agreement with the College of Business Administration. KFH took part in graduation ceremonies for students of GUST, College of Petroleum Engineering and College of Business Administration. The bank as well organized in collaboration with government schools visits to KFH’s branches in efforts to educate students on the importance of savings.
Al-Ruwaieh added “KFH prioritized the youth and is the leading supporter for them at all levels. The bank signed many strategic partnerships, of which was the partnership with Kuwaiti Skydiver Mohammad Alrefaei. KFH continued its support to the disabled diver Faisal Almosawi and the Jet Ski national team in its participation in the world championship. The bank supported its staff in the triathlon locally and regionally. It also continued its strategic partnership with the Youth Empowerment Symposium dedicated for empowering the youth and granting them the opportunity to benefit from global leaders’ expertise and success stories. KFH took the initiative of launching national work during February in an attempt to encourage the youth to excel in different areas. It participated in 1000 projects fair for the youth’s initiatives in coordination with Manpower Restructuring Program. It took part in several job fairs, and supported the unified GCC traffic week.
At the level of health, Al-Ruwaieh affirmed that KFH attached great attention to this important field where it held a number of first aid workshops for teachers in collaboration with Alsalam Hospital. It spared no efforts in continuously visiting patients at hospitals during different occasions. He indicated that KFH was in the first place atop all companies in participating in the world diabetes day in collaboration with government and private agencies. The bank was a major supporter to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. KFH has a firm belief in the importance of the environment, thus it inked strategic partnerships with two of the high profile environment organizations at the domestic level; the Renewable Energy Development Organization (REDO) and the Environmental Mabarrah.
With regard to the philanthropic and volunteerism field, Al-Ruwaieh stressed the importance of this field to KFH as it reflects the bank’s identity indicating the bank launched a number of charitable projects, of which were feeding fasting people, serving worshippers during Qiyam prayer in the Grand Mosque, and holding a debut Quran competition for children. He added that KFH sponsored the activities of Red Crescent Society, organized many blood donation campaigns, and offered winter clothes for cleaning workers. KFH managed to fund Haj for 2000 pilgrims through Al-Khair prepaid card. The bank also brought a novel approach whereby clients can donate Fiter alms giving and Feed a fasting person through bank’s ATMs.
