Kuwait Finance House (KFH) participated in the Kuwait Sustainable Energy Conference and Exhibition, taking place in Kuwait from May 11th to 13th. The event was held under the patronage of His Excellency, the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem.
KFH`s participation aims to highlight the significant impact of its sustainability efforts and its dedication to educating the community about the importance of protecting natural resources. This reinforces KFH`s leading role in social responsibility and sustainability.
Head of Public Relations and Media at KFH Group, Yousef Abdullah Al-Ruwaieh, stressed that KFH`s role as a strategic partner in the conference reflects its sustained dedication to fostering sustainability, environmental stewardship, and the advancement of sustainable energy alternatives.
Keep it Green
Al-Ruwaieh, speaking at the conference, underscored KFH`s sustained commitment to environmental responsibility through its "Keep it Green" initiative, which drives numerous projects focused on raising awareness, protecting the environment, and fostering sustainability and greening principles.
He added that KFH implemented several initiatives in cooperation with the Scientific Center and saved over 1.5 million papers as part of its digital transformation and environmental efforts. In addition, KFH cooperated with the Green Dream Team in the greening of chalets on Al Zour Road.
Al Wataniya Area Development
In line with its commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation, Al-Ruwaieh said that KFH provided its support for an initiative aimed at designing and developing the area between Baitak Tower and Souq Al Wataniya in Kuwait City. This initiative, a collaboration between KFH, Kuwait Municipality, and the College of Architecture at Kuwait University, will develop and execute the winning projects in accordance with sustainability and ESG standards.
16th Conference of the Parties (COP16)
As part of its dedication to fostering sustainability and contributing to international efforts against desertification and drought, KFH took part in the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) in Riyadh, organized by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). KFH also proactively signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and endorsed the Women`s Empowerment Principles Agreement.
Global recognitions
Demonstrating its strong commitment to social responsibility and sustainability, KFH has garnered significant international acclaim. This includes accolades such as EMEA Finance Magazine`s "Corporate Social Responsibility – Middle East" award, Euromoney`s "Kuwait`s Best Bank for ESG," and Global Finance Magazine`s "Kuwait's Best Bank for Sustainable Finance". Further underscoring its leadership, KFH received an "A" rating from MSCI for its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and was recognized for its sustainability excellence through inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index in 2024.

KFH Auto building is the first in Kuwait to be awarded the Global Sustainability Assessment System GSAS – Gold Level Certificate, a testament to its sustainable design and operational commitment to environmental preservation.
