Kuwait Finance House (KFH) organized a program, in cooperation with Sadu House, for Baiti account customers. Titled “Fun with Weaving”, the program aims to encourage children to protect the environment by working with fully recycled materials in line with Keep it Green initiative.
Fun with Weaving reflects KFH’s ongoing efforts to sponsor diverse cultural activities, aiming to preserve national heritage and reinforce the Bank’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainability.
The strategic partnership between KFH and Sadu House contributes to enhancing Sadu House’s educational and cultural endeavors, especially those initiatives focused on promoting traditional weaving as a pillar of Kuwaiti heritage. Through practical training, children are trained the traditional handicrafts, strengthening their connection to national identity, and introducing them to Kuwait’s unique textile heritage, most notably Sadu weaving.
Moreover, this program helps nurture their talents and stimulate creative thinking. It also instils in them an appreciation for traditional arts, opening wider horizons for innovation and creativity through knowledge exchange and the development of their creative thinking skills.
The strategic partnership also highlights the environmental aspect, aligning with the concept of sustainability, a key component of the Bank's strategy, vision, and mission.
Additionally, the Fun with Weaving program aligns with KFH's Keep it Green campaign by using recycled materials to convey to the children the significance of recycling and environment protection.
It is worth noting that the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) included Sadu weaving on its List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, and AlSadu Society as an advisory organizer at UNESCO.
The strategic partnership with AlSadu Society (Sadu House) has continued since 2019, featuring special programs during the summer and national holidays in addition to workshops dedicated to Baiti customers. This collaboration reflects KFH’s commitment to supporting various activities for different age groups while strengthening its strategy in social responsibility and sustainability.
