Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has appointed Khaled Yousef AlShamlan as Group Chief Executive Officer, following approval from the Central Bank of Kuwait. AlShamlan served as the CEO for KFH-Kuwait since August 2023.

The appointment affirms the Bank's strategy to promote the national workforce by prioritizing the development of its leadership capabilities within the internal selection process for leadership roles. This aligns with the Bank's efforts to enhance performance and drive growth at local, regional, and global levels. This is achieved by deploying experienced banking professionals with the ability to lead and contribute to the Bank's success as they assume their assigned leadership positions.

With over 27 years of experience, AlShamlan is one of the distinguished national competencies who held numerous prominent leadership positions, most of which were at KFH.

This appointment aligns with KFH`s strategic priorities, which emphasize technological advancement, digital transformation, performance excellence, competitive advantage, and continuous operational modernization. This also reflects the Group's business expansion, spanning 12 countries worldwide and encompassing multiple strategic markets through a vast network of KFH Group.

AlShamlan played a key role in managing the digital transformation of banking services during the merger process, significantly enhancing KFH's market share within the Kuwaiti banking sector. He also contributed significantly to the successful acquisition and conversion of Ahli United Bank to comply with Sharia principles.

AlShamlan is one of KFH's prominent figures in management and finance. With extensive expertise in KFH's numerous activities, he has successfully completed numerous training courses and specialized programs from global and reputable entities. He also holds several certified professional accreditations in his field.

Since August 2023, he has been at the helm of KFH as KFH-Kuwait Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, he held numerous prominent leadership positions including Group Chief Retail and Private Banking Officer, General Manager Retail Banking, General Manager Corporate Banking, Deputy General Manager Individual Financing, Deputy General Manager Corporate Real Estate Financing. AlShamlan received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Kuwait University in 1995. He completed a 2-year specialized training program for graduates at Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA). He is also a Board member of Ahli United Bank – Bahrain and Vice Chairman to the Board of KFH-Capital. He is also a board member in the Shared Electronic Banking Company (KNET).
