Kuwait Finance House (KFH) participated in the second edition of the National Leadership Conference titled "Breaking Barriers II: A Strong Mind. Strong Body. Strong Leader”. The Conference, organized by the National Leadership Institute (NLI) in strategic partnership with KFH, is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Finance.
During her participation in the panel discussion: “Leading through Resilience, Innovation, and Wellness”, KFH Group Chief Data Officer, Lamya AlTabtebai affirmed that resilience has played a vital role in KFH's achievement of positive results at all levels.
She said that balancing between innovation and outstanding performance at work and achieving employee well-being relies on a healthy work environment that promotes employee growth and maintains effective communication with the team and the manager where transparent discussions about all aspects of fear and challenge are welcome.
AlTabtebai added: “The team well-being and outstanding performance complement each other. Employee well-being is key to innovation.”
She mentioned that KFH management are aware of the significance of team well-being, its role in motivating employees to innovate, stressing KFH’s keenness towards employee well-being and investment in human talents.
She commended KFH's health initiative directed at its employees, which includes facilitating health check-ups and providing female employees with the opportunity to undergo medical screening during work hours as part of Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, with special discounts at various health centers.
AlTabtebai also highlighted KFH's initiative to celebrate employees' children for their academic excellence in high school, reflecting KFH's dedication to supporting its human capital and inspiring them to achieve success for themselves and their families.
AlTabtebai added: “In line with its commitment to human capital development, KFH launched the Qadha program, the first of its kind, to honor outstanding employees. This unique initiative is designed to encourage capable employees and sustain their enthusiasm. Additionally, KFH awarded scholarships to 19 employees this year, reaffirming its support for staff career development."
“When employees feel valued, their loyalty to the workplace increases, making them more motivated, committed to their responsibilities, and innovative.” she remarked.
She further explained that effective time management and organization allow employees more time for themselves and their families. The clear distinction between work and personal life helps employees maintain energy and sustain a healthy mental state, enabling them to perform their work to the fullest.

During his opening speech at the conference, KFH Deputy General Manager Public Relations and Media, Yousef Abdullah Al-Ruwaieh, said that KFH continues its strategic partnership with NLI through its active participation in Breaking Barriers II, following the outstanding success of its inaugural edition.
He added that KFH's participation in this prestigious conference, which highlighted the importance of balancing mental and physical well-being for effective leadership, stems from KFH's commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to supporting specialized initiatives and conferences. These initiatives provide opportunities to explore new avenues for knowledge transfer and empower national talent and skills.
“The conference serves as a platform for participants to network, learn, and gain insights from experiences. It features local and international speakers from various sectors who share their successful professional journeys, including executives from top companies, banks, and institutions,” added Al-Ruwaieh.
He emphasized that KFH places significant importance on fostering a healthy and appealing work environment and motivates all levels of management to adopt this approach in their work and interactions with their teams, reflecting the strategic goals of the conference.
KFH was honored by the National Leadership Institute in recognition of its prominent role and active participation in the conference.

- Dr. Mariam Al-Awadhi: Assistant Professor at Kuwait University's College of Medicine and a specialist in mental health. She was trained at the University of Ottawa.
- Alaa Al-Homaizi: A doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Columbia University. She is a trailblazer in global mental health advocacy.
