Represented by a high-level delegation headed by Acting Group CEO, Abdulwahab Iesa Alrushood, Kuwait Finance House (KFH) concluded participation in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WBG) meetings held in Marrakech, Morocco. The meetings brought together regional and international banks, global credit rating agencies, leaders in banking sector, governors of central banks, ministers of finance and development as well as prominent government officials, scholars, and experts from all over the world.
KFH’s delegation participated in different meetings with international officials to discuss major economic issues and updates in the financial and banking sector around the world. The delegation also held meetings with regional and global financial institutions to enhance relationships and explore further opportunities of cooperation in business, credit facilities, Interbank agreements, treasury products, activating money markets transactions, commercial financing, debt market, Sukuk issuance, in addition to credit facilities for sustainable projects (clean finance) and other business topics and agendas.
The meetings of IMF and WBG addressed matters of financial inclusion, digital transformation, sustainability, universal economic prospects and development, nature of risks and economic outlook in different markets. These subjects gave the event its importance, as most of the participants play a major role in economic decision-making and shaping the financial policy in their countries.
The roundtables and discussions during the annual IMF meetings represented a chance for KFH’s delegation to showcase the role of Islamic finance services industry and its potential as a strategic alternative and a fundamental option in the global economy, discuss opportunities of joint projects and propose areas of cooperation and coordinate with Islamic banking entities.
