Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has announced the strategic partnership with the Scientific Center, one of the centers of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), with the aim of collaborating in the field of environmental preservation and sustainability.
KFH's interest in such partnerships and initiatives comes within the framework of its strategy, social responsibility, and leadership in the field of sustainability, as well as the Keep it Green initiative, which is an umbrella for the implementation of many environmental and sustainable initiatives and projects.
This partnership will feature many initiatives, events, and activities that will preserve the environment by various means, starting this month, on the occasion of World Environment Day, which is recognized this year under the title “Let's Overcome Plastic Pollution”.
Signing the strategic partnership with the Scientific Center, KFH Manager PR and Events Management, Fahad AlSaad, said that KFH is keen to support partnerships and initiatives that enhance sustainability standards in alignment with KFH's sustainability strategy.
AlSaad added that KFH remains committed to backing environmental preservation and sustainable initiatives as part of the Keep it Green initiative. This initiative encompasses multiple events, activities, and programs dedicated to fostering sustainability and a healthy environment across various fields throughout the year.
As part of the partnership, there is a commitment to support the initiatives of the Scientific Center, which has planned an array of courses, workshops, and events throughout June. Over twenty events are scheduled for this year, including the release of rehabilitated sea turtles into the Arabian Gulf, an underwater cleaning campaign, and the restoration of coral reefs that were initially cultured in the Scientific Center to their natural habitat, in cooperation with the Environment Public Authority and KFH public relations team. In addition to a series of workshops on ways to protect the environment and legalize the use of plastic, along with a sequence of workshops that focus on protecting the environment and minimizing plastic usage.
Children will also be involved in the process of conserving the environment extending invitations to eco-friendly stores to showcase their merchandise at the “Green Pop-Up” environmental festival, set to be held at the Scientific Center. This aims to encourage the community to embrace the notion of owning and utilizing sustainable products. As a family-friendly activity, there will also be a mural painting event, meant to raise environmental consciousness through art and motivate individuals to strive towards a more sustainable future. A fish design (Zubaidi) will also be showcased aimed at collecting plastic bottles throughout the month, which will then be recycled. Finally, a day dedicated to environmental dialogues and discussions will be arranged featuring a series of talks on tackling plastic pollution. Distinguished professionals from diverse areas of expertise will share their insights and knowledge, emphasizing the impact of plastic pollution and exploring innovative solutions to this problem.
