Kuwait Finance House (KFH) has urged its customers to exercise caution and attentiveness when managing their banking transactions, under the Diraya campaign launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait in cooperation with Kuwait Banking Association and local banks.
KFH pointed out the importance of coordination between banks and other parties such as telecommunications and internet companies and social media platforms to confront electronic fraud targeting users of digital banking services.
Through its regular awareness messages, KFH emphasized the customer's role in protecting data privacy, dealing with fraud and money theft attempts, and the importance of achieving greater cooperation and exchange of information between the relevant parties.
KFH explained through its social media platforms that as online shopping and digital banking services become more prevalent, there has been a corresponding rise in fraudulent activities and attempted theft. Therefore, the customer must avoid this type of financial scam, and help in taking the necessary precautions in this regard.
KFH stressed that the customer must not provide any personal and financial data to any party, whether online, SMS, website, or through a phone call. Also, the Bank has advised the customer to refrain from responding to any phone calls or text messages that seek to elicit disclosures of bank information or OTP.
It is noteworthy that Diraya campaign aims to educate the community about online banking security and promote financial inclusion. Since its launch in 2021, KFH continues to play an active role in supporting the campaign's objectives through its social media accounts and other channels.
The campaign focuses on raising awareness of customer rights, the principles, and rules of dealing with banks, information security and protection from hacking, combating financial fraud and other systems and warnings related to banking and financial transactions and cybersecurity.
