Kuwait Finance House (KFH) launched a digital academy specialized in the field of environment and sustainability, in strategic partnership with (SEEDS), as part of KFH's sustainability strategy and the “Keep it Green” campaign launched by KFH to care for and preserve the environment, As an umbrella under which many initiatives and projects fall that will contribute to disseminating the awareness of environment and sustainability concepts in Kuwait and the world.
KFH Assistant Sponsorships and CSR Manager, Abdulaziz Deyab, confirmed that environmentalism is a pillar in KFH’s sustainability strategy, noting that KFH supports similar initiatives that help in spreading societal awareness on the necessity of environment protection and utilize all available resources for the recycling process in line with KFH strategy.
pointing out that cooperation with SEEDS Academy represents a success story and a model, and that joint cooperation through the launch of An integrated platform that brings together specialists and those interested in the field of sustainability to exchange ideas and experiences and unite efforts towards a sustainable environment, and the platform presents various topics and solutions in sustainability, for example, the concept of green buildings, which highlights the KFH AUTO exhibition as a model that holds GSAS Gold certification as anenvironmentally friendly building, according to the standards of the global sustainability assessment system.
For her part, the co-founder of SEEDS, Yasmine Al-Kandari, expressed her happiness with the partnership with KFH in launching the digital platform, which will provide SEEDS with the greatest opportunity to develop its business to serve the environment and sustainability, stressing that the Academy aspires to reach the largest possible segment of society members interested in preserving the environment and sustainability by organizing more workshops and lectures.
The strategic partnership between KFH and SEEDS resulted in numerous projects, programs and workshops organized by the company for different segments and age groups, particularly kids who KFH aims to introduce to and teach about concepts of sustainability and the preservation of environment.
It is worth noting that KFH has launched several environmental initiatives under the umbrella of (Keep it Green) campaign, most prominent of which was the launch of the first smart plastic bank cards in Kuwait which are 85.5% made of recycled plastic. KFH has also signed a memorandum of cooperation with private and government entities to support plantation and greening projects as well as the mitigation of carbon emissions. Furthermore, KFH participated in cleaning Kubbar island in addition to another initiative which focused on producing organic fertilizer by transforming vegetables and fruits leftovers into manure for the soil.
