With the support of Kuwait Finance House (KFH), Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has signed an agreement with Turkish Red Crescent Society to execute various relief and social projects to aid the victims of natural disasters in Turkey.
KFH Executive Manager, Media and Government Relations, Mohammed Alfaris said, in a press release during the agreement signing ceremony in the Turkish capital, Ankara, in presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of Kuwait to Turkey, Wael Al-Enezi, Vice Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Anwar Al-Hasawi, the KRCS Director of Legal Affairs and Young Volunteers' Affairs, Dr. Musaed Al Enezi and a host of officials in Turkish Red Crescent Society, that the agreement covers aid provided by KFH in collaboration with the Kuwaiti and Turkish Red Crescent Societies to purchase 12 blood donation vehicles, 2 rescue boats and the construction of a central kitchen for 300 days.
Alfaris added that KFH support to KRCS comes as part of their strategic partnership. Also, it reflects KFH pioneering social responsibility role and its keenness to participate in social initiatives inside and outside Kuwait and the determination to continue its endeavor to support human activities at all levels. He noted that the vision of successful institutions is focused on merging their efforts to achieve the best interests of society. He reiterated that KFH is always a pioneer in social and developmental activities and the execution of various sustainable social projects.
Praising and Recognition
The officials of both Kuwaiti and Turkish Red Crescent Societies expressed their appreciation and gratitude for KFH support and valued its significant role in social responsibility and the support provided to the needy societies in various geographies, thus reflecting the bright side of the institution and the State of Kuwait.
Signing an agreement with (AFAD)
Alfaris indicated that an agreement has been signed with the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) to support the establishment of regional disaster and fire response center in Antalya, aiming to support the forests fire-fighting efforts which have caused massive damages.
During his field visit to Antalya to view the location of the emergency response project site, Alfaris and the officials of the Kuwaiti and Turkish Red Crescent Societies discussed the necessity of enhancing joint cooperation and coordination to execute humanitarian aid and various social projects that would mitigate the suffering of all affected persons in general.
Long Social Record
KFH enjoys long impressive record of social initiatives in cooperation with KRCS. KFH has participated recently in supporting the relief and medical campaign in Jordan. The campaign comprised a highly skilled and specialized team of Kuwaiti doctors and consultants serving more than 200 patients.
KFH voluntary team has also participated, in cooperation with the Jordan Red Crescent Society and in coordination with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, in the distribution of food baskets, organizing children’s educational events, providing winter clothes, providing a one-year food supply, construction of a clinic and other social activities.
KFH has also signed two donation agreements with both Kuwait Red Crescent Society and King Hussein Cancer Center in Jordan, aiming to cover the treatment expenses of the cancer patients of the Syrian refugees and Gaza citizens in Jordan. It must be noted that that the humanitarian aid provided by KFH to King Hussein Cancer Center comes as part of the social and relief activity which the bank provides in line with its social responsibility and commitment.
